Effective December 27, 2022, HUD will require federally assisted units have carbon monoxide alarms or detectors properly installed.
Landlords - If your HCV-assisted units do not already have a CO2 alarm or detector installed, please make preparations to do so to be in
compliance with this new requirement. HUD now requires all smoke detectors to meet NFPA 72 standards; detectors must have a sealed 10yr battery or be hard wired.
