Northwest Oregon Housing Authority has vouchers available for home ownership. These vouchers are of a limited duration, depending on the length of the mortgage. The program is designed for people to progressively increase their incomes so that they can take over the full mortgage payment within ten to fifteen years, eventually owning their own homes. (HUD-designated elderly and disabled households do not have a time limit on the home ownership voucher.) The Family Programs Coordinator will help you plan the steps necessary to qualify for a home ownership voucher. There are down payment and closing cost assistance programs for which applicants may also be eligible.
